Dilemmatic Funding Project

Dilemmatic Story Outline

Fund this project.

A struggling construction worker becomes disillusioned with reality as he struggles to earn a living and fight the voice in his head that is telling him that he is the only one who can save humanity from the evils of capitalism, poverty, and societal injustices that affect working-class people and him individually.  He begins to believe that the right thing to do to save humanity but at the cost of losing his humanity is to do the unthinkable.  The stress of everyday life, his lack of work from his employer, his differences with his roommate about the nature of their relationship, and being told that he could save humanity in the future by doing the unthinkable in the present, by a mysterious figure who is either real or created by his imagination only adds to the stress of his daily hardships and his potential drinking problem. He does not know if this mysterious figure of darkness is only a dream or if it is a nightmare that is trapped in his thoughts and consciousness due to the books about darkness and mythical and biblical creatures that he is reading that may be blurring his thinking and slowly destroying his reality and convincing him to do something that he may later come to regret?

Help me embark on this 35–45-minute psychological thriller and independent short film that I plan to bring to fruition. The funding will be used to secure locations for principal photography, securing camera equipment, lighting equipment, audio equipment, editing software, and other necessary filming equipment. Paying cast and crew members. Paying for operating costs, wardrobe, props, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, and marketing costs.  This is a passion project that I hope to begin filming, completing, and later enter this film short into several film industry contests, and release to the public in the foreseeable future.

Risks and challenges

There is always a risk of trying to make and produce a film/short. Such risks can be anything from the risk of the film (short) being incomplete, not completed on time, or not what the stack holders expected. There is also the risk of the vision of the film not coming to fruition. Cost overruns, missed deadlines, and unexpected delays are also possible risk factors. Change of film’s title. Credits are exempted accidentally or due to time constraints. The risk of the film having a longer or shorter running time than estimated among other risk factors not outlined here.
